BBQ Competitor Information
Competition Categories & Entry Fee
- Categories: Beef Brisket, Chicken, Pork Ribs, & Pulled Pork
- Entry Fee: $225 (if registered before August 1)
- Payout: $10,000
Event Schedule
- Load-in Time: Thursday at 5 PM
- Cooks Meeting: Friday night (exact time will be notified to competitors)
- People’s Choice Judging: Saturday at 11 AM
Vendor Opportunities
- BBQ vendors can apply to sell at the event. For-profit vendors are limited to 6
and are chosen on a first-come, first-served basis. - Vendors must obtain a Temporary Sales Tax License and submit appropriate

Important Details
- No On-Site Electricity: Bring your own generators.
- Non-Refundable Fee: Cancellations after August 1 or no-shows will forfeit the fee. Cancellations before August 1 will receive a $50 credit for the next year’s event.
- Space Provided: Each team gets a 30′ x 15′ space, which must be self-contained.
People’s Choice Competition
- Participants can compete in this separate event with a 10 lb pork shoulder provided by the organizers.
- Leftover donations are encouraged.
- Rules: People’s Choice does not follow KCBS rules.
Cleaning & Trash
All participants are responsible for cleaning up their area. Trash bins will be provided.
